Affiliated with Danbury Hospital, Nuvance Health Medical Practice is seeking a per diem Physician Assistant (PA) to work remotely to help with provider inbox coverage - responding to messages, refill requests, and prior authorizations with our new and growing Metabolic & Medical Weight Management Program in our Newtown, Connecticut office. This program includes our Medical Director, advanced practitioners, as well as dieticians and behavioral health specialists. Our Metabolic Program services are offered at our Wilton and Newtown locations, centrally located within Fairfield County, CT. Our program provides comprehensive evaluations and management of obesity as a chronic disease with a focus on health and wellness. We see both non-surgical and surgical candidates pre- and post-operatively.
The ideal candidate will be a board-certified Physician Assistant with at least 5 years’ of experience in bariatric medicine, endocrinology, primary care and/or related fields. Certification in obesity medicine or willingness to obtain certification is required. Candidate will be working directly with the Medical Director in managing a diverse patient population. Candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of the larger integrated, multidisciplinary team overseeing patient care.
Our outpatient practice is affiliated with nearby Danbury Hospital, a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. As a teaching hospital, we are affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our larger employed Medical Group includes 1000+ physicians and advanced practitioners.

Job Responsibilities:
The Physician Assistant provides medical care for patients in collaboration with a physician, assisting patients to recover from acute illnesses while minimizing the effects of chronic illnesses.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and graduate of an approved Physician Assistant (PA) school.
- CT State PA license, DEA/State of CT controlled substance.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- ACLS & BLS certification.
- Must maintain 50 CME's over two years.
- At least 5 years’ previous experience as a Physician Assistant in Metabolic or Endocrinology required.
- Willingness to work per diem flexible remote schedule.

Salary range:
$70 - $75/hr. commensurate or relative to experience.
