Summary:

 

The Specialist for Sponsorships and Events plays a dual role within the Foundation:

·Responsible for soliciting sponsorships for a variety of special events throughout the year, implementing and executing revenue-generating relationships.

· Works closely with the Director, Foundation Events, to ensure the successful planning and execution of donor-facing events.

The Specialist reports to the Director, Foundation Events, and works closely with the frontline team on sponsorship opportunities.  

    Responsibilities:

     

    Sponsorships:

    Proactively identify potential corporate partners by engaging and meeting to discuss sponsorship opportunities with local businesses, and follow up on sponsorship proposals

     Attend to the day-to-day management of new sponsorship components, working closely with local businesses, events facilities and internal stakeholders to execute programs

    Build and maintain relationships with external corporate partners and others

    Responsible for attaining revenue goals as set for each fiscal year

    Lead creation of sponsorship support materials (digital, print on demand, and print) in partnership with the Donor Engagement team, while maintaining consistency with brand guidelines. Draft and edit donor materials and copy

    In concert with the Events Director, negotiate and manage sponsorship arrangements and serve as a liaison with corporate partners on sponsorship execution

    Manage sponsorship budget/revenue, including coordinating sponsor invoicing and tracking of program components

     Other duties as assigned

     

    Events:

    Manage the implementation and execution of events for donors and prospective donors to Nuvance Health and its various entities, as assigned by the Director, Foundation Events. These may include, but are not limited to, cultivation and dedication events, receptions, breakfasts, luncheons, dinners, lectures, seminars, events for the Boards of Trustees and tours.

    Oversee all aspects of event planning including developing a complete timeline, identifying venues, venue booking, contracts, catering, audiovisual equipment, and travel arrangements 

     

    Work with Donor Engagement on print and digital materials such as invitations, save the dates, posters, programs, web pages, blast emails, follow-up messaging, and Thank View videos; oversee preparation and coordination of mailings ensuring lists are properly pulled, and mailings sent out in a timely manner; work with gift processing team to track event responses and maintain an accurate attendance list

     

    Follow through with all invitee and staff communications and phone calls in preparation for events; provide attendee confirmation and event follow-up

     

    Manage on-site production on the day of event and oversee breakdown and clean-up following the close of the event

     

    Develop and maintain working relationships with key internal and external contacts

    Other Information:

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, and/or equivalent experience 

    • A minimum of two years of professional experience in event planning 

    • A minimum of two years of fundraising experience and the ability to work productively with corporate prospects to secure sponsorships 

    • Experience working in healthcare setting, multi-hospital network preferred, or other non-for-profit 

    • Raisers Edge software experience preferred 

    • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work while managing multiple deadlines with excellent attention to detail; effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues
    • Sensitivity to the needs and moods of event attendees and ability to persuasively address concerns in real time
    • Recognition that this is a team-oriented effort within a highly collegial environment, values teamwork and can motivate colleagues
    • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and presentation - to articulate persuasively Nuvance Health’s mission, program objectives and resource needs to potential partners
