Description

Summary:

Responsible for leading multiple projects of varying size, complexity and type. These projects may tie together under a program or be unrelated. Either scenario may span one or multiple lines of business. Leading includes overseeing the planning and delivery of assigned projects leveraging project management processes through all project phases. Understands interdependencies between technology, operations and business when evaluating changes, issues and risks. Possesses the ability to tailor communications and presentations to audiences including C-Level, Steering Committees, and Project Teams. May be responsible for oversight/mentoring of other Project Mangers assigned to a project or phase of larger projects or a phase of a program. This position reports into the IT Project Management Office.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develops project charters, scope documents, project plans, status reports, communication management plans, and other documentation as the project requires.
  2. Manages all aspects of a project or program, including its planning, communication, risk and issue assessment/management, resources and budget.
  3. Uses specialized tools and techniques to delegate and ensure accountability of tasks to project team members.
  4. Guide and direct project team members to ensure compliance with set standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  5. Building authority within the project team
  6. Motivates team members to meet established milestones.
  7. Coordinates with vendors and contractors ensuring the project adheres to budget and timeline.
  8. Assists sponsors/business units with impact of the solution on existing business practices to determine policy and process changes, organizational & staffing level requirements, training needs & physical location requirements.
  9. Develops internal communication strategies useful in ensuring communication between various departments of the organization.
  10. Creates executive level status reports incorporating project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues.
  11. Ability to turn troubled projects around
  12. May lead/monitor Project Managers who are assigned to assist the Sr. Project Manager with a larger project or program.
  13. May be assigned to mentor other project managers
  14. Maintains and models Nuvance Health Values
  15. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance
  16. Performs other duties as assigned

Other Information:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Five to seven years of project management experience with proven track record of increasingly more complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Prior experience managing application upgrades, hardware projects, data or image migrations in a hospital environment a plus.
  • Prior experience managing at the program level a plus
  • Must be excellent communicator, well-organized, and have the soft skills to influential leaders.
  • Ability to communicate and present up to the C-Level.
  • Must be willing to learn and take direction
  • Prior experience managing projects using Clarity PPM a plus
  • PMP and/or PMI-ACP or other Agile certification a plus
