Description

Summary:

Provides patient care support under the supervision of the RN before and after ECT procedure. Schedules patients for ECT and coordinates necessary space and services with the PACU, OR and Duracell Center staff. Maintains ECT charts in compliance with regulatory requirements. Coordinates staffing and training for ECT in consultation with Assistant Nurse Manager. Conducts unit group activities as needed. Provides clerical support, as necessary, to assigned service.

Responsibilities:

1. Observes, interacts and provides direction for all patients assigned while under the supervision of an RN. Conveys the patient's objective behavior, level of functioning, and any problems or difficulties the patient is experiencing to RN.
2. Provides support to patients before and after ECT procedure. Assists RN in implementing the plan of care for the patient.
3. Provides a safe and/or secure environment for the patient/community.
4. Maintains ECT charts in compliance with regulatory requirements.
5. Schedules patients for ECT and coordinates necessary space and services with the PACU, OR and Duracell Center staff.
6. Conducts unit group activities as needed.
7. Coordinates staffing and training for ECT in consulation with Assistant Nurse Manager.
8. Participates in Performance Improvement activities.
9. Recognizes value of continued professional growth and development.
10. Assists in orienting new psychiatric technician personnel.
11. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: BACHELOR'S LVL DGRE

Other Information:

Required: Customer service, experience working with psychiatric patients, as well as ECT charting & scheduling, and facilitating inpatient psychiatric group activities.
Minimum Experience: three years
