Description

Under the direction of the Director of Materials Management and the 
OR Materials Manager, the Supply Coordinator for Materials Management/OR will assist 
in the maintenance of supplies, instruments, and equipment used in the Operating Room. 

This employee will demonstrate ability to work effectively with the Director of Materials 
Management, OR Materials Manager, Storeroom Supervisor, Storeroom staff members, 
OR managers, Professional staff, Physicians, and other Hospital personnel to achieve the 
common goal of providing the right products, at the least cost, when and where required. 

The Supply Coordinator will assist in the elimination of any disruption of the Operating 
Room operations which may result from supply or equipment interruptions, no matter the 
reason. The Supply Coordinator also fills in for the OR Materials Manager, as required. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience:
- 1-2 years of computerized Materials Management experience, plus OR/Surgical 
 Services supply usage experience preferred.
- Previous OR Supply Coordinator (or equivalent) experience, with demonstrated
 analytical skills preferred. Must have experience with par level and/or JIT stocking
 systems.
- HBOC Materials Management Information Systems (MMIS) experience preferred.
- Must be prepared to report ongoing activities to Director of Materials
 Management, in report fashion. 

Physical & Other Factors: Must be able to bend, lift, and carry heavy cartons and
Equipment, in excess of 50#. May sit for 2-3 hours/day while coordinating supply
& equipment requirements with Purchasing and Storeroom personnel. Extensive
walking, and the ability to use computerized equipment are required.
