Summary
Partner in the design, planning, implementation and delivery of compensation programs, policies and procedures for the healthcare system. Support Nuvance Health’s achievement of desired competitive position to market and supporting system goals and initiatives. Contribute to compensation programs to enhance Nuvance's ability to recruit, motivate and retain talented employees. Span of Control: Serve as compensation leader for a segment of the healthcare system or significant compensation programs that are system-wide. 
 
Responsibilities
  •  Assist in the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs and systems including merit, market and equity analyses across the healthcare system.
  • Serve as compensation subject matter expert; consult with HR and talent acquisition business partners on complex compensation-related matters.  Identify HR and business needs, enhance and/or design solutions to address them.
  • Advise leaders on pay, compensation practices, and policy interpretations.  Support decision-making process and final outcomes by providing detailed analysis/models, innovative recommendations.
  • Coordinate the completion of compensation surveys and ensure access to contemporary, relevant market intelligence.  Develop and maintain compensation structures, as well as titling and leveling standards.
  • Conduct complex analyses to ensure internal equity, consistent application of policy, and external competitiveness. Provide strategic support for Labor Relations; may provide economic modeling during union collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Work with the Total Rewards and broader HR team.  Support the work and development of team members. Provide specific, meaningful performance feedback, where appropriate.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports and others within sphere of influence.
  • Facilitate annual merit increase cycle; educate and guide leaders to optimize merit budget and reward exceptional performance.
  • Conduct ad hoc market assessments and provide cost effective recommendations.
  •  Support compensation annual planning process.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams driving solutions impacting associate pay including mergers and acquisitions, integration, and system-wide initiatives.
  • Monitor compensation systems and processes and recommend streamlining and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding compensation.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and liaison with Human Resources Information Center (HRIC); coordinate system coding/set up, processes, and reporting requirements necessary for compensation analysis.

  • Review Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) exemption status and conduct tests to ensure appropriate status.
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes and anticipate impact on hospital system.  Provide recommendations to mitigate risk. 
 
Education Skills Experience
Certification in HR (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred 
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) strongly preferred.
