Clinical Simulation Technician - Danbury, CT

Full-time, 40 hours - 8 hour shifts between 7:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Summary:

The Clinical Simulation Technician (CST) coordinates and provides operational support for Network simulation activities. The CST serves as a technical expert who is able to set up, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and occasionally repair simulation  equipment, and AV/IT equipment used in simulation. The CST also instructs and assists simulation faculty and learners in the use of the technical and human resources used in simulation. The CST is familiar with the various modalities of simulation education and  has a good grasp of simulation educational principles, and is able to assist in the development, setup, delivery, and takedown of simulation education sessions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operate and maintain simulation equipment, task trainers, computerized simulators, virtual reality procedural trainers, and simulation related A/V equipment.
  2. Coordinates with faculty instructors in designing, planning, testing,  and operating simulations to meet specified objectives.
  3. Assists with the coordination, development, and appropriate utilization of standardized patients.
  4. Ensures appropriate set-up and timely changeover of rooms and resources between sessions.
  5. Maintains and organizes inventory of equipment and supplies.
  6. Participates in the briefing of learners prior to simulation sessions.
  7. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required, Associate's Degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in technology or healthcare.
  • Strong computer/technical background with the ability to learn new hardware and software systems rapidly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator.
  • Must possess a high degree of professionalism with high-level interpersonal skills for collaboration with clinicians and staff at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.

Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
