Description

Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, New York, located just 75 minutes north of New York City, is seeking a part-time (0.7FTE) Nurse Practitioner to join the Hospitalist team. This is an excellent employed opportunity at a large community hospital in a beautiful suburban NY location.

JOB HIGHLIGHTS:

· 12 hour shifts

· Nights: 7pm – 7am

· Responds to RRT and other in house emergencies such as Code Stroke, Code Sepsis, etc. (no Code Blue)

· Discharge follow up calls including lab/test results and pharmacy calls

· The APP is an integral part of the team who enjoys a balance of clinical autonomy with physician back up and support at all times

· Vassar is building a new 696,000-square-foot, seven-level inpatient pavilion with 264 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms

QUALIFICATIONS:

For newly graduated candidates, a strong inpatient nursing med-surg or critical care background is desired. For practicing candidates, hospitalist experience or highly functioning outpatient experience is recommended.
