Description

Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations.

LPN Float Nurse

Summary: This LPN position floats to other locations. Performs tasks and responsibilities within the framework of case finding, health teaching, health counseling, and provision of supportive and restorative care under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed health care provider

Responsibilities: Greet patients in waiting area, escort patients to clinical areas, check-outs 

  • Telephone call-backs, and telephone care as directed by physician/provider and RN
  • Patient counseling and education as directed by provider 
  • Responsible for HPN and NYSIIS immunization registration reprinting and account updates 
  • Preparation of medical record in advance of appointment
  • Obtain and document chief complaint, vital signs, history, ordered CLIA waived tests
  • Capture charges for provision of ancillary services
  • Prepare patient and exam room and assist physician/provider with examination
  • Labeling and handling of labs, pap smears, cultures, biopsies and other specimens
  • Assumes responsibility for patient flow and ensure that patients have follow up testing and appointment with physicians

 Requirements:

  • Accredited nursing program graduate
  • Current NYS LPN license
  • Current BLS certification
  • 1 Year experience preferred
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

Salary Range:  $24.15 - $41.32 hourly (based on experience)
