Description

Summary:

 

As a maintenance electrician, this position will be required to conduct general maintenance inspections, perform routine electrical maintenance, light appliance repairs, respond to faults and wiring issues, install and reprogram TV’s, troubleshoot and repair nurse call system issues, operate and maintain the Hospital back-up generator (150KW-750 KW) to include weekly no-load and monthly load testing.  This position will also troubleshoot and repair patient bed issues, duties on any electrical system including those related to heating, ventilating, air-conditioning as well as being responsible for all electrical related items at the Hospital and outer buildings on campus.

Responsibilities:

 

1.Routinely inspects electrical systems such as wiring, fixtures, and appliances.

2.Identifies faults or hazards.

3.Troubleshoots system failures.

4.Reviews blueprints to understand wiring placement.

5.Tests electrical systems

6.Conducts maintenance repairs on old or faulty fixtures.

7.Responds to fault requests and emergency electrical failures 24/7.

8.Provides suggestions for equipment replacement.

9.Writes and keeps electrical maintenance reports.

10.Installs new electrical components in the building.

11.Adheres to safety and performance standards.

12.Performs other duties as required

Education Skills Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Putnam County Electrical License E-1
  • 3 years of work experience as a Maintenance Electrician.
  • Electrical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Word
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Putnam County Electrical License E-1
  • 3 years of work experience as a Maintenance Electrician.
  • Electrical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Word

Working Conditions:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Some occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
