Vassar Brothers Medical Center, part of Nuvance Health,  has excellent opportunities for a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its growing team in Poughkeepsie, New York, located just 75 minutes north of New York City. There is opportunity for a full time PA position that includes OR responsibilities as well as full time PA/NP position that is hospital based patient management.
OR Responsibilities
  • 1st and 2nd assisting on all cardiac and thoracic cases
  • EVH
  • Radial artery harvesting
  • Central line, thoracentesis, chest tube placement and all procedures typical to this specialty
  • TAVR/robotic opportunities
 Patient Management Responsibilities
  • Critical Care/CTICU management
  • CT Step Down Unit Patient Management
  • Bedside Procedures
  • Consults
  • Pre-op evaluation
  • Discharges
  • Progress Notes
  • -24/7 service, in-house call

Qualifications 
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting and 1-2 years of current surgical experience is preferred.
